Meet The Press Gang

Press Gang News is a multi-school, online newspaper that showcases the work of primary school students involved in The School News Project. 

When students walk into one of our programs, they stop being students in a primary school and become reporters working in a newsroom.

Student reporters learn ‘on the job’ and develop key skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and digital literacy. They conduct real interviews with school leaders and other students, they gather information from different sources, and they write, edit and fact-check.

It’s real work. They’re not playing at being reporters; they are reporters!
