The School News Project provides immersive, hands-on, learning experiences for primary school students centred around real school newspapers.

During our programs, students are guided through the process of creating a school newspaper. This includes developing ideas, planning articles, conducting interviews, and writing, editing, and fact-checking – directly supporting literacy outcomes.

Our programs are aligned with the NSW curriculum and give students an opportunity to develop key capabilities such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and digital literacy.

On top of all this, it’s a fun and engaging way to provide students with agency and voice. And, every program results in a student-led school newspaper that you can share with your school community.
