Year Six Traditions

By Dev, Lara, Hazel, Leanna & Roisin

From playground games to lasting names, it’s our last year at PPS. And, in Year 6 – it’s all about the traditions, and there are lots of them.

We go to Lunar Park at the end of the year because it is a fun way to say goodbye to the school and have fun with your friends.

The Year 6 shirts and jackets make us stand out. Younger students know we can help them with anything because we have a big responsibility to be role models. When graduating we run underneath an arch of people.

We also have a formal at the end of the year to celebrate all of our achievements. At the formal we spend time with friends and teachers, eat, dance and especially laugh. Formal is a very important – it is also a chance to spend time with everyone before we all go to different schools.

We are lucky to have teachers and the P&C to help organise our formal, Luna Park, tote bags and more.

We interviewed some of the Year 6’s about traditions.

“I’m excited to graduate, but I am a bit nervous too,” said Scarlet. “I think I am ready to leave, but not in a bad way,” she added

“I will miss the students, my friends and the teachers. My favourite Year of Putney was Year 6 because I like being the oldest of the school,”  said Sienna.
