What the Women’s World Cup means to me

By Cameron

The Women’s World Cup to me is a wonderful tournament and experience to watch or play in. Watching all of these accomplished women play soccer is extremely inspiring to me.

I support the Matildas and throughout August I have been trying to wear Green and Gold to support the Matildas on their road through to the finals.

Sam Kerr, who is sadly out with a calf injury, is my female soccer idol. I have always imagined myself on the cover of the most famous soccer game FIFA. Now that Sam Kerr is on the cover of FIFA 23, it really inspires me to keep on practising soccer and strive to reach my goal of becoming a terrific soccer player who is known throughout the world like Messi, or Sam Kerr.

Kerr is supported by other players on the team such as Caitlin Foord, Hayley Raso, Emily van Egmond and many other brilliant players on the Matildas team. Watching them play is amazing. I think that the Matildas have a very good chance of winning the Women’s World Cup this year.

Let’s go Matildas!
