Who’s excited for Term 2? Putney students have come back from an amazing holiday and are pumped and excited for everything that lies ahead.
We’re talking Winter PSSA, the Athletics Carnival, Siron 7s, Mother’s Day and more.
The Mother’s Day Stall
Putney Public School is excited about the Mother’s Day stall. The stalls are so cheap and affordable! The stall is on the 8th of May on Wednesday. There are also separate stalls for your grandmothers. sausage sizzle and egg and bacon rolls. thats delicious! Putney’s favourite food to have at the Mother’s Day Breakfast! Free flowers and Mother’s Day photos (with your mother of course! It’s fun for mothers and kids!

The Athletics Carnival
The athletics carnival is a carnival where the participating students compete in different events to get into Zone. All students get sorted into their colour houses and wear the colour of their house.
“It’s really fun and there’s lots of activities to compete in,” said Caelum.
Year 6 Peer Mediator (PM)
A PM is a year 6 who helps their peers to solve small problems. When teachers are busy with solving bigger problems the PMS are here to help.
How can you tell who is a PM? Normally when it is their day they will weer a white PPS bucket hat. All PMs will wear a circular badge.
“It’s helpful for younger kids when they need a role model,” said Zoe.
“I think it’s and opportunity for people to help younger kids,” said Veatrice.
The Sironen 7’s Rugby Gala Day
The sironen 7’s is a rugby gala day in which schools come together and compete for the title or best rugby team. Boys and girls From different schools play for the title of best rugby team. Boys play tackle and girls play tag. It is held at Holy Cross High School during Week 8.
It makes kids active and it’s an opportunity for kids who didn’t make it to the PSSA team to play against other schools .
“It’s a nice and fun experience for everyone who ihe s involved,” said Liam.
Winter PSSA
The teams for winter PSSA are Netball, Soccer and Tiger-Tag.
This year, a big rule of Netball has changed. There is now a mixed Netball PSSA team as well as a girls team. Even if there are no boys on your team, get ready to play them in other schools!
