Did you hear about the Stage 3 Grapple Expo? Well, Stage 3 has been learning about biomes. Biomes are different environments like aquatic and desert.
Stage 3 gathered on the Green to share their learning with students, teachers and parents (who also enjoyed some free coffee.)
Making the biomes
There were a lot of different biomes to choose from – desert, forest rainforest and more. “We used boxes, paper, paint, sticks and rocks. We also had to write some facts about our biome,” explained Bahiya.
The Expo
At the Grapple Expo, the Stage 3 kids presented their creations. They had papers for feedback.
“There were a lot of things in the biomes such as trees, paper clouds, oh, and real lizards! Don’t worry, they were friendly and you could touch them,” said Kaarunya from year 4.
“One of the biomes had a lizard in it. It was friendly and cute,” said Zaynab from Year 4.
The group that had a lizard was talking about deserts. They borrowed a teacher’s lizard and kids were allowed to pet it.
“We also got to ask questions,” added Aminah, also from Year 4. “it was very interesting.”
