TECH: GSPS Visit Microsoft Experience Centre

Umar & Waleed & Taqi

During the exciting period of term 3, 2023, GSPS adventured on a mission to explore and learn about technology. Some of the electrifying activities we were engaged in were, coding, racing simulators and making our own exhilarating games.

Only 20 people got selected to go and visit the Microsoft experience centre. Our principal chose those who love technology. Children paid and signed a note to advance and add more knowledge to their brains about tech and coding.

Coding

Coding tells a machine what actions to perform and how to complete tasks. Students need to understand coding because, helps them to understand how the modern world works, and perhaps, someday, shape the digital future.

2024 is going to be a spectacular year for coding mainly because there are many coding sites that can teach youngsters how to code such as the Microsoft Warehouse. The highest quality computer for coding is the Surface 9 Pro as it has a range of 8 GB and going up to 32GB and because of that, we can guarantee that your projects will not be slowed down. Is there going to be a Microsoft excursion in 2024? The leadership team is trying to put together a time to go during school for those kids that really want to have that experience.

Interviews:

“I got to play with a racing simulator and I got to make my own game. It was very good and beneficial. I enjoyed it a lot.” – Ziva, Year 6 Student

“I thought it was a fantastic opportunity for our students to customise themselves to the Microsoft world and their application.” Miss K. Issa

“Kids will develop their technological skills. They’d be able to code. They’re working in 21st-century learning because we’re going into a new world where there’s no more pen to paper. Everything’s technology. So kids need to be able to use technology to supplement their learning and adjust to the new environment. Tech is the future.” Miss Sharouk
