Dogs, Cats, Guinea Pig’s, Worms & Lizards All Feature In Pet Poll

We all know the furry, scaly or feathery things known as our pets, but how many VPS students have a pet and what pets are the most popular? We found out by polling Stage 1.

According to our poll, 52 per cent of students have pets. Dogs are the most popular pets in Stage 1 – 33 per cent of students have a pet dog. Cats and fish are the second most popular pets with 16 per cent each.

Other students have some unusual pets with worms, spiders, guinea pigs, lizards, chickens and rats all featuring in the poll.

One of our teachers, Miss Buchannon, has a pet Guinea Pig named Cookie (pictured).

Here’s a funny story for you. She had her guinea pig on her lap and it peed on her white shirt so she had to come to school with a yellow stain on her shirt.
