Backstage At OGPS’s Little Mermaid JR

Whenever you enter the performing Arts room at OGPS, you see the numbers drop on the board as the ‘days until the performance’ fly by. OGPS’s Little Mermaid JR cast have been paying close attention to those numbers as they prepare to hit the stage on 25th of September 2025!

But have you ever wondered what it’s like to be behind the scenes, where OGPS’s  fantastic lead cast members become actors, singers and dancers lead by Mr Tan? Well you’re about to find out.  

Members of the lead cast shared their experience of the musical. Here’s what they had to say.

Matilda – Ariel

“What I love about being in the OGPS musical is how fun it is and learning all the upbeat and exciting dances, songs and scenes.”

“My favourite scene to perform is probably Part of Your World because it’s when Ariel confesses her dream to live in the human world.”

Ruben – King Triton

“The musical is a very new thing to me because I usually don’t do things in this category, but I love trying new activities.”

“It’s really fun coordinating with the others and it truly feels like you’ve been transported to Ariel’s world.”

“One of my favourite scenes is scene 10. It’s so fun yet the Under the Sea finale truly polishes it off.”

Lucy – Aquata the Mersister

“I love being in the musical because I get to do lots of fun scenes and you begin to feel like family with all the other cast members. My favourite song to perform is She’s in Love because it’s so upbeat and enjoyable to sing and dance to.”

As you can see, looking behind the scenes of the musical is next level excitement.
