OGPS celebrated Public Education Week on Tuesday, 5th August. Education Week is a very important week at OGPS because it gives us a chance to show off everything we have been learning.
The Performances
First, there was the Senior Band opening the extravaganza, playing Mamma Mia and Eye of the Tiger.
Secondly, there were dances like the amazing Emerald Dance Company who lit up the stage. And then the Vocal ensemble – there were a lot of popular songs in this performance including Down Under, Crazy and Don’t Stop Believing.
The Picnic
At recess, we had the OGPS Education Week picnic, where some families came to have recess with their kids and got into conversations with friends and family.
The Space Games
During the space games we were put into about 30 groups which competed in soccer penalty shootouts, an obstacle course, captain ball and sprints.
Sausage sizzle & Icy Poles
We had the sausage sizzle which lots of people thought was yummy. At the end of the day we had icy poles. There were lots of different flavours like cola, lime, raspberry, fairy floss, orange, strawberry and bubble gum.
So, what did students think about Public Education Week?
Samuel: “It was a really enjoyable experience with all the performances, it was a great show.”
Zosia and Maria: “It’s a great way to show OGPS’s talent and learning.”
