I went to the Great (ART) Outdoors on the GreenWay on Sunday with my family and two friends.
We went to Sandra Winkworth’s ‘Pollinators’ Workshop to work on a joint artwork. We were asked to bring in everyday plastic packaging like yogurt pots, fish-shaped soy sauce bottles and lids to turn into artworks of bees, butterflies, bats, birds and other pollinators.
“This workshop highlights the beauty and biodiversity of those essential and busy workers in our gardens by transforming our everyday waste into treasure, turning trash into plentiful art materials worthy of respect,” says Sandra Winkworth.

We painted lots of bees on plastic lids using Posca paint markers. Flowers were made from metal beer bottle caps and straws using wire.
20 fish-shaped soy sauce bottles were brought from home, and gold coloured wire was wrapped around each of their tails. Next, we painted each fish using purple, blue and green Posca paint markers.
In my opinion, they look like fairy lights, and will hang above my friend’s bed!
