In this article, we are going to see if Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnight and Among Us are appropriate for kids, so you can be safe when you’re playing online.
Minecraft
Minecraft is a fun game for kids, in this game you can make things, build and more. Although it has other things to it such as online servers and a bit of violence, we’re gonna focus on violence for now. When I say violence, I don’t mean things like blood, I mean killing people and animals.
In the game Minecraft you have 5 modes, Creative mode, Survival mode, Hardcore mode, Spectator mode and Adventure mode. The 2 most common modes are Survival and Creative.
In survival mode you have to survive by building, making stuff and getting food which is what I mean by violence. To get this food you have to kill animals or kill other people and take their loot, with swords. This may not seem like a big problem to others but for some, this may be a bit scary.
I think that you should be at least 6 or 7 years old to play.
Roblox
Roblox is an amusing game enjoyed by more than 200 million people worldwide, with a majority of them being under the age of 18. Although there are lots of kids that play roblox, is it safe?
Well it depends what games they’re playing on Roblox. If kids are playing games like roleplaying games, simulators and obbies these are ok but in these games there can be bad people that are playing online, like online dates, adults trying to get your personal information and more.
There are options to turn off chat and you can if needed report and block people.
Overall I think you should be 8+ if you know how to be online safe.
Fortnite
Fortnite is a game for teenagers and NOT kids. The reason for this is because there is violence, guns, blades and blood, I think this is NOT appropriate for kids. And Fortnite also has chat and voice chat, though you can turn these off, your kids could easily turn it right back on.
Therefore I think Fortnite is not appropriate for kids under 13.
Among Us
Among Us is a great game to play when you’re bored and to solve mysteries.
Among us is a pretty good game for kids yet it does have its downsides. In Among us there is 1 murderer and the rest of the players are crewmates, the murderer can kill whoever they want and if someone sees the dead body they can choose to call a meeting to solve who did it or to ignore it.
When you die in among us a little animation pops up of the murderer shooting you, stabbing you, eating you, strangling you with its tongue, twisting your head backwards and more. But do not worry, this is all cartoons and not very scary.
In conclusion I think this game is appropriate for 8 to 9+.
