Experience: I Did The Mother’s Day Classic And You Should Do It Too
By Milla-Rose

On the 12th of May my mum and I went to the Mother’s Day Classic to support Breast Cancer and Ovarian Cancer. You can do the 5km or 10km walk or the 5km or 10km run but it’s up to you my mum and I did the 5km walk because it was our first time.
Mum and I had to wake up early in the morning to get ready. We left home at 8:00 and got coffee because we were so tired. My dad drove us to Domain Park and we walked to where it was held.
We were so excited! We looked around the stalls before the walk started, I got a jumper and my mum got a bottle and we also got some flowers.

We walked to the marshalling area to begin the walk and saw Putney PS teacher, Mrs Hedge! The start of the walk was slow because there were so many people, but everyone picked up the pace and soon we were on our way!
The roads were blocked so we could walk on the roads, which was weird, but fun. The walk was really cool because there was party music on the way – it was like being at a disco.
I didn’t get tired because I was enjoying spending time with my mum. At the end of the walk everyone got a medal, I wore mine all day!
The Mother’s Day Classic was so much fun and I encourage everyone to give it a go next year.
