The school hall turned into a concert performance as the students were dancing, singing and vibing to Mitch Tambo’s great singing.
Australian World Music Star, Mitch Tambo is a new voice for our generation producing music that inspires everyone who listens to it.
Mitch sings songs with Aboriginal language, connecting with Aboriginal and Torres strait islanders. He wears things that have meaning, like the ochre on his forehead or feathers on his head.
He blends traditional Aboriginal sounds and language with contemporary beats and production. He enjoys sharing his heritage and culture with students and visits many schools to share his joy of singing.
In August, Mitch visited our school and gave a performance that students will never forget. He played his new song, “Mini Kaka” It is amazing, joyful and exciting.
He also performed an out-of-this-world song, the First Nations version of the iconic John Farnham anthem, You’re The Voice. He performed it when he appeared on the 2019 Finale of Australia’s Got Talent, and he performed it for us, too.
“We enjoy Mitch Tambo coming to our school as he has positive and high energy. We value his input with all our students and also supporting our Aboriginal students, he is an outstanding Aboriginal role model,” said Ms See, HRPS Principal.
