Get Hooked on Reading With the Premier’s Reading Challenge!

The Premier’s Reading Challenge is kind of like fishing, once you start, you get hooked in.

If you’re a huge reader who participates in the PRC, you can get an award for all the books you read. In the library, there are a wide variety of books to choose from that you can enjoy. It’s like a big adventure for your brain.

Do you know what PRC means? It means Pretty Reading Club, just kidding! PRC stands for Premier’s Reading Challenge. The PRC is a perfect opportunity to read different fictional, or non- fictional books. The Premier’s Reading Challenge finishes on Friday, 18th of September in the afternoon. So come join the PRC with us and explore different worlds or just enjoy some cool facts.

But what is the Premier’s Reading Challenge?  “The PRC is an amazing opportunity for students to read lots of books and get rewarded for it. It also encourages students to read more and develop good reading habits,” said HRPS Teacher Librarian.

“We can learn from lots of different books, so the more you read, the more you know, the more you grow,” said Ms See, HRPS Principal.

In the Premier’s Reading Challenge this year, th

ere are currently nine students who have officially finished the PRC, and 45 students who are participating to dive in through different books, while receiving a silver award for the PRC. “Any kind of program challenge that encourages reading is important and uplifting because people try different things that can encourage us to branch out and keep going,” said Mrs Lavery.

Our awesome librarian, Miss Simpson is in charge of the Premier’s Reading Challenge. If you need any more information on the PRC, you can ask her about the challenge.

At HRPS, most kids love reading, so the Premier’s Reading Challenge is an amazing opportunity to read all you can, explore new genres or just read for fun! If you don’t like reading, it may be difficult at the start but it’s like watching your favourite show, once you start, you get too interested to back out!
