By Zeena, Maryam, Janiya, Sarina & Maggie

Crazy Sock Day. What is it? Why is it special? For what cause? Well, you’re in luck! Today you will find out the answers to all of your queries, questions and many more things about it! Let’s wiggle to it!

Crazy Sock Day was on the 21st of March. It is a globally recognised awareness event for World Down Syndrome Day.

On the same day, we celebrated ‘Go Blue For Autism’ so students could choose to wear blue for autism awareness, or crazy socks, or both. So we learnt about Down syndrome and autism on the same day.

Crazy Sock Day for down syndrome

Down syndrome is a genetic condition caused by an extra chromosome. Instead of the usual 46 chromosomes in each cell, a person with Down syndrome has 47. This extra genetic material changes how the body and brain develop.

Go Blue for Autism Awareness

Autism is a condition that affects how a person perceives, processes information, and interacts with the world around them.
