Being a young leader is awesome! You get to lead by example. Year 6, this is your time to shine.
For the past three years all the leaders from Five Dock PS have been going to Young Leaders Day (YLD). You learn how to become a good leader and you have lots of fun doing it.
This year, on 21st March, all the prefects, school captains, house captains and Ms Chosid attended. Presenters included TV host Jess Yates, ultra-marathon record holder Jacqui Bell, and Dance Curriculum.
Live action Moana actor Catherine Laga’aia spoke with students. “She was very inspiring,” said Adam, Y6 prefect. “She said, just because other people are better than you doesn’t mean that you don’t try your hardest.”
“We learned about good leadership qualities and not to give up,” said Giselle, Y6, our school captain. There were also these dance breaks and they were fun.”
“I learnt that taking initiative as a leader was really important,” said Martina, Y6.
“It gives an opportunity to the young leaders to learn about leadership,” said Ms Chosid.
