Fast feet, sharp passes: FDPS Guide to PSSA Netball
By Celia, Asya & Natalia

Are you bored on the weekends? Want to try something new? Then netball is the perfect sport for you!
According to Netball Australia, more than 20 million people in the world play netball. Netball is a fun sport that involves running, shooting goals and teamwork.
Did you know that Five Dock PS has a Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) netball team? PSSA netball is a great chance to enjoy netball at school. The positions in netball are Wing Attack, Wing Defence, Centre, Goal Shooter, Goal Keeper, Goal Attack and Goal Defence.
“Wing attack and wing defense are my favourite because it is easier for me,” said Willow, Y5.
“My favourite positions in netball are centre and goal attack because it involves lots of running and shooting goals and I love that,” said Lucy, Y4.
We train every Friday at school. Some Fridays we have a netball competition called a Gala Day and it gives us a chance to play against other schools. We also socialise with new people from other schools and have fun.
There is lots to love about netball.
“I enjoy netball because it involves teamwork and running around,” said Lucy.
“I enjoy playing with new people and my friends,” said Willow.
If you join netball we are sure you will have the best time and leave with a smile.
