Press Gang: Can you tell us about synchronised ice skating?
Ms Lancaster: You work in teams of 16 – and it’s really fun.
Press Gang: Why do you like it?
Ms Lancaster: I like this sport because it’s very creative, but you also have to be very fit and athletic and strong. My team are my best friends and it’s really nice to have friends who like the same sport as you.
Press Gang: When did you start synchronised ice skating?
Ms Lancaster: I started ice skating when I was 13 and I skated for 11 years.
Press Gang: How did you feel the first time that you tried synchronised ice skating?
Ms Lancaster: felt like I was dancing and I really love dancing. I felt free and really happy.
Press Gang: What advice would you give to someone who wants to try synchronised ice skating?
Ms Lancaster: Keep at it and try your best, it gets easier with practice. Your synchro team will be your best friends.
