Opinion: We Need To Celebrate Our Magnificent Mothers!

Forget about Halloween or New Year’s Eve, on the 12th of May we gather together to celebrate Mother’s Day!
On this day, we celebrate our magnificent mothers, and how much they do in our lives. It could be giving you special gifts, taking you on fun days out, or simply those little things that go unnoticed, such as making you your favourite breakfast.
Some of the most fantastic, famous women are mums, for example Ada Lovelace, or Marie Curie. It is incredible that they could still achieve all that they did, and raise their own children at the same time.
At Kegworth, we celebrate Mother’s Day by hosting a free concert in the hall, for all mothers. An assortment of different breakfasts are served, and all the various orchestras in the school perform pieces they have been working on over the past few months. It is fabulous to get together, where we appreciate the immense importance of our marvellous mums.
We polled Kegworth kids to see what they are getting their mums for Mother’s Day. Handmade items, clothes, jewellery and flowers were all popular.
Your mum has been your companion from the moment you were born, and we should use this important day to consider that.
