By Isabella, Amelia, Evie & Zohreh

As I walked into the school gates I felt a rush of excitement. I was greeted by Pig The Pug and a Hufflepuff and I was ready to start the day.

I saw a Harry Potter and a Snow White to my left and a Red Crayon on my right.

I started wondering to myself what is Book Week? We interviewed Ms Beede to find out more.

What is Book Week?

Book Week is a time when the Children’s Book Council of Australia celebrates all the amazing books that have been written in the last year as well as all the Australian children’s authors and illustrators. In school, it’s a time when we celebrate books in general.

Why does our school celebrate book week?

Our school celebrates book week because books are so important. If we didn’t have books, then we wouldn’t be able to learn so many amazing things.

Is there anything else students should know about Book Week?

I think students should be reading every day, thinking about books, and finding lots of books that they want to read for enjoyment.
