How much time do you spend outside?

We polled Year 6 students and found that 57 per cent of us spend more than two hours outside a day. 9 per cent spend less than 30 minuets outside a day.

It is important to spend time outside. Here’s why.

Exercise

Did you know that you need at least 1 to 2 hours of exercise a day to stay healthy?

Exercising outside reduces stress levels. It also helps you boost your confidence if you exercise with other people.

Mental Health

Mental health is basically how we feel, like anger, stress, happy, or confused.

Mental health is important because it can help us control our emotions. If we can control ourselves, we can have more friends, less enemies and more control over our body.

Going outside and breathing fresh air can clear your mind and can prevent you from having stress.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D has lots of important benefits that can make your body healthy. Scientists have proven that Vitamin D can boost bone health, boost your immune system and increase your energy.

To get vitamin D into your body, you need to spend time outside. When the sunlight strikes the skin it triggers vitamin D synthesis.

So, go outside, stretch your legs, get some fresh air and maybe just kick a ball around with your siblings.
