GWPS Celebrates Book Week

In Week 5 GWPS celebrated Book Week. There were lots of different activities that we experienced during the week.
We dressed up as our favourite book characters. We made castles out of paddle pop sticks, inspired by books with castles in them. We read lots of books and we even had a book relay. We also took part in the CBCA Shadow Judging. We looked at all the books nominated for the CBCA Book Of The Year awards and we got to vote on which one we liked best. After the votes were counted, Press Gang can confirm that GWPS’s favourite picture books are;
Stage 1: Gymnastica Fantastica by Briony Stewart.
Stage 2: Raised By Moths, by Michelle Conn
Stage 3: Australia: Country Of Colour by Jess Racklyeft.
Best Dressed!
Lots of students dressed as characters from Harry Potter. Miss A dressed as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. But we think that Huynh, Mr Robinson, Miss Rifai, who came as Oompa Loompas from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, were the best dressed.
