OGPS Cross Country: Come On Down To Speedy Town!
By the OGPS Press Gang
‘On your marks, set, GO!’ The athletes sprag into and started running… This was the sound of all eight races OGPS had today.
We had our Cross Country Carnival on the beautiful King George’s Oval. The weather was delightful and everyone got to share how fast they really are.
Our reporters were on the scene interviewing OGPS kids about the day.
Dylan was happy with his result. “It was fun, it was a good run,” he said.
Max M is going to Zone. “I’ve come seventh for two years in a row so it’s really good to finally go to Zone,” he said.
Press Gang reporters also spoke to some OGPS teachers.
Mr Paine said he was feeling great. “I think the kids did really really well and I’m super proud of them,” he told Press Gang.
He was particularly impressed with members of the OGPS running club. “I think all of run club should be getting into regionals.”
Meanwhile, Mr Mc Bain explained that he’d spent the day on one of the posts guiding kids on the course. “My favorite thing was watching everyone and knowing that they did their personal best,” he sid.
Press Gang reporters also conducted a survey to find out how OGPS kids feel about running. Surprisingly, out only 13.9% don’t like running.

But there is more to the Cross Country Carnival than running.
OGPS had an all round great day. Everyone was in a good mood, cheering peers on. Most people won their house some points.
As one Press Gang reporter notes, “We got some exercise, we got to skip learning and we got to be free.”
