We all need exercise for our body’s physical health and endurance. Now, Cross Country has finally arrived and HRPS students have never been more eager to get out and run!
Have you ever felt so competitive that you want to race against others? Do you want to see how far and fast you can run? Well, Cross Country is the best opportunity for you.
Although some people have mixed feelings about whether or not they should join the race, it’s best to participate as you could have a chance to get a ranking. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th is probably all you could dream about but remember, it’s not about winning, it’s about how far you can run.
Even though Cross Country may be tiring, it’s a great motivation to get in shape and stay fit. We may have trouble jumping or going on hills and we don’t know if we might stumble – but all these hindrances in the race motivates and encourages us to be determined and persist. This builds enormous strength, physically and mentally.
Running also increases your heart rate, which is a huge benefit for your body. Your heart rate is how many times your heart beats per minute. When your heart beats, that means blood is being pumped around the body sending oxygen and nutrients to all parts of your body.
So, you should totally participate in Cross Country, but don’t worry if you don’t win, feel proud that you have tried your best!
