Six-seeeven!” Have you heard of 6-7, brainrot triple t (tung tung sahur), or are you rizzful and tuff? Gen Alpha slang has spread like wildfire all over the world. We interviewed Stage 3 students and Mrs Edwards to find out all about it.

Gen Alpha slang spreads all around social media and schools. It’s a way that kids can connect and talk, without adults having to understand. Gen Alpha slang was made by internet memes and there wasn’t an actual person who invented it.

Kids use Gen Alpha slang to enjoy themselves or make someone laugh. Slang helps kids to socialise, make someone laugh. Slang helps kids to socialise, make friends and have a sense of belonging.

“Kids go on YouTube Shorts and they start copying it, and then the world copies it as well,” says Aloysius, Y5, who likes using Gen Alpha slang. “It’s very funny and my friends think it’s funny.”

You might be wondering, what does 6-7 mean? It means absolutely nothing, it’s

just numbers and 6-7 got Dictionary.com word of the year for 2025. Gen Alpha slang is highly mixed and is generated through YouTube and TikTok.

Mrs Edwards, teacher of 5/6E, hears students in her class using Gen Alpha slang. We asked her why she thinks kids like using it. “Because it sets them apart from the adults and they have fun doing it,” she says
